Gosselin divorce finally finalized

OK America, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Jon and Kate Gosselin are divorced. In June the Jon and Kate Gosselin divorce filing was announced on their TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″. Seven months later, the show’s over and the marriage is over.
There are not a whole lot of surprises regarding the Gosselin divorce. There are a few things to wonder about, though. For instance, celebrity magazines are reporting that Jon Gosselin has to pay five-figure monthly child support payments. But how will he do that now that he’s no longer collecting those fatty paychecks from TLC? Not even installment payday loans in Lomita would get him enough money to pay that.
Who gets what
There are not a whole lot of details regarding the distribution of property in the Gosselin divorce, but we do know that Kate gets the house and the kids. Jon has visitation rights, but Kate has primary custody, and their pricey home in Pennsylvania now belongs solely to her.
Kate’s lawyer has gone on record as saying that they are happy with the outcome of the Gosselin divorce — again, no surprise there. I haven’t found anything about what Jon ended up with.
Farewell to Gosselin Gossip
The entire year of 2009 was all about the Gosselins. One of the things I do at work is look at which search terms are popular online. Jon and Kate Gosselin very reliably showed up among the most-Googled items at least every couple of weeks, often more frequently. From the moment there were rumors of Kate cheating and rumors of Jon cheating, tabloids, blogs and all manner of media have had an absolute heyday covering all things Jon and Kate.
Jon’s 22-year-old girlfriend, Kate’s allegations that he stole money from her, and every other detail of their lives was splayed across the tabloids as both went on several talk shows to talk about their lives. Even now the tabloids are covering Jon’s relationship with Haley Glassman, which is over, but apparently that is to his dismay. She told him over the phone last night: “stop stalking me.”
So likely we will still be subjected to more juicy little nuggets about Jon and Kate’s personal lives, even though the Gosselin divorce is final and the show is off the air. Eventually, though, people will probably lose interest, unless one of the rumors about reality show spawn come true and we see Gosselin faces on our TV screens once again.
